Installation of the New Parish Priest

This coming Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 12:00 noon, the installation of the new parish priest of San Sebastián Parish, Father César Donaire Corchero, will take place.
The ceremony will be presided over by the Diocesan Bishop and include a solemn Eucharistic celebration, marking the beginning of Father Donaire’s pastoral ministry in the community.

The rite will begin with the entrance procession, led by the Bishop wearing his mitre and carrying his crosier, accompanied by Father Donaire, deacons, and acolytes. Upon reaching the altar, the Bishop will incense the altar and begin the introductory rites, greeting the faithful and explaining the meaning of the ceremony.

Next, the official letter of appointment will be read, followed by the profession of faith and the oath of fidelity, in which Father Donaire will reaffirm his commitment to the Church and the community he will serve.

One of the most symbolic moments of the ceremony will be the handing over of the church keys, representing his pastoral authority. He will also ring the parish bells, inviting the faithful to gather in prayer.
The Bishop will then accompany him in a visit to important spaces within the parish—such as the baptistery, the confessional, and the altar—delivering the symbols of his new ministry.

The whole community is invited to take part in this special celebration, which marks the beginning of a new chapter under the guidance of Father César Donaire Corchero, who has vowed to lead with wisdom and dedication.
